‘Pagal Haranath Bhakta Patravali’ is the rare collection of devotees’ letters written by them to our Lord during His sojourn on this mother earth. The love and devotion shown by them towards our Thakur are unparalled and highly praise worthy. Their exquisite and essential qualities on the path of devotion and supreme love bond established between a devotee and God (Premi and Premaspad) deserve to be emulated by everyone of us. These devotees stand before us as role models so that we can uplift ourselves from the sorrows and burdens of this mundane world. – Gopinath Ganguly, Howrah (Harabaas)
The devotees may kindly observe that all these letters were hand-written prior to 1928. Brother Rathu Bhai (Modi) of Pune gave them to me saying “This is a collection by Jagmohan Bhai (Modi of Bombay). If you can put them to some use, you may do so.” Thus I am thankful to both Rathu Bhai and Tapas Bose of Nagpur brother devotees without whose role this work would not have been possible.
I earnestly hope that these letters will serve as an inspiring link between Lord Haranath and the present day devotees and to strengthen the divine bond of mutual love. I conclude with the following words of our Lord : “I know nothing but love……Love one sided is not that sweet -in a reciprocated way it will be doubly sweet.” – Sevak V. Subba Rao. (Compilator of the Book)

MY HOLIEST OF THE HOLY.
I beg to request your holyself to accept our humblest Pranams on this memorable occasion. Pray Accept our………heartiest congratulations on this your birthday from one of the humblest of the humblest insignificant (insignificant) servants of yours. I know not what more to say on this memorable occasion but to place my head at your lotus feet reverentialy and at the same time to send up my silent prayer to the Almighty Shree Krishna for his (His) act of grace by giving us the benefit of your person to the suffering humanity at this juncture
MY HOLY SADGURU :- The message you have brought with you and the mission you have undertaken shall not form an easy affair. The message is of hope and goodwill. And the mission is to imbibe in spirit of devotion in us towards the Highest and His Prembhaktis. (Prembhaktas!) By the dint of perseverance alone – your Holiness – you have succeeded inspite of odds against your holy self. Why – I must even admit that you have been even successful in all your attempts. It is due to our shortcomings we have not come up to your expectations. What is expected from us honorably to do now is to blindly follow your teachings.
MY HOLY LORD :- I have at the outset said that I am quite incapable adequately of grasping this opportunity and to express to your holy self all my surging feelings. But insignificant as I am, I feel I am utterly not left without your blessings. Allow me therefore Holiness to worship you in this queer sort of way and keep your person evergreen in my memory.
MY EXISTING LORD! Guru punem (Guru Purnima) is fast approaching. As my Holy Guru possessing a right earnest place in my heart, Utsavday and Guru punem (Guru Purnima) day I shall not spend in vain. Pray – Bless your rudest servant with sufficient strength and vigour to carry out my spiritual determination. Pray – your generous help mercy and blessings heartily given will make my humble existence as pure and pious as it ought to be.
