The following incident occurred after Prabhu left his mortal coil. Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri, who carried on business in Gold and diamond jewellery in Bombay was a great devotee of Prabhu. (Today we find the Jewellery shops of Zaveri Brothers in most major cities.) Whenever mother went to Bombay she would also stay with him.

Once during one such visit when she stayed with Tribhovandas, he was greatly concerned about getting a Brahmin cook for cooking food for the mother. Then to his great surprise and relief a Brahmin called on him and introduced himself as the cook who ran the kitchen during Baba’s birthday celebrations organized in Kambala Hills sometime ago. After mother finished eating, the cook, with her permission would pick up the left-over food from her plate, mix it with the food on his own plate and eat it. Some of those, who saw him eating thus, ridiculed him, saying, “What kind of Brahmin is this fellow! He eats the left-over food from a widow’s plate. All his principles are just pretence.” With tears, he approached mother and told her how he was being teased. Mother told him consolingly, “Don’t cry, my child! Tell them that what you are eating is not the left-over food but the ‘Bhog Prasad’ of the milk maid of Brindaban,” that is, Radha Rani. The joy he experienced on hearing these words was beyond description. (Narrated by Tulsidasji, Grandson of Thakur)
