Thakur Haranath’s Advice Regarding Bombay Hari Sabha (1919)

During the last week of October, He received a parcel of sweet-meats (Kind of Chocolate) from Bombay sent by Mrs. Ranchordas which were tasted by many at Sonamukhi. Expressing His gratitude and moved by their sincere love He heartily praised their action.

He gave the following advice regarding the Bombay Hari Sabha to Ranchordas.-“I am glad that your Sabha is improving daily. May your good and earnest endeavour be crowned with full success. May the whole world join your Sabha and may everyone be much benefited by it. Please do always remember that it is a Hari Sabha where peace and happiness will reside. Please see that the Fund may give help to the poor and needy. Out of this fund please feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give shelter to the helpless. Try to spread universal brotherhood, and see that even the slightest tinge of disunion never enters the threshold of the Sabha building. Hot discussions should be totally abandoned. Distinction between poor and wealthy be strictly avoided. So, never say or do anything that may wound the feelings of others. All childish and worthless worldly topics should, as a rule, not enter your Sabha building. May Krishna spare me little more to see that an Ashram has been erected at Bombay and thousánds are getting help in it.” (26 – 10-19)
