“Scarcely were there persons more successful than Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Kamsa; but in spite of their vast acquirements they never hesitated to measure strength with their tutelary deities. This is Tamas. Therefore engage in the service of the Lord with the aid of Sattva guna, and you will attain purity and happiness. Krishna’s name generates pure Sattva guna, the fruit of which is Bhakti. Bhakti produces Prema by which the Lord of Love is reached.”

“রাবণ, কুম্ভকর্ণ, কংস প্রভৃতি অপেক্ষা সিদ্ধ পুরুষ দ্বিতীয় নাই; কিন্তু তাহারা সিদ্ধ হইয়াও আপন আপন ইষ্টের সঙ্গে সমকক্ষ হইতে ছাড়ে নাই – ইহাই তম (তম গুণ)। তাই বলি, সত্ব-গুণ দ্বারা আরাধনা করিতে থাকুন, পবিত্র ও সুখী হইবেন। কৃষ্ণ-নাম হইতে কেবল মাত্র শুদ্ধ সত্ব উদয় হয়, তাহার ফলে ভক্তি, ভক্তি হইতে প্রেম, আর প্রেমের দ্বারাই সেই প্রেমের হরিকে পাওয়া যায়।”
