“Intercourse of a Maharaja with a Maharaja, Amir with an Amir, Yogi with a Yogi and a beggar with a beggar will be appropriate; intercourse between any two of different status is decidedly unhappy. Those who are rich in prayer and devotion may talk of Ishwara, Brahma etc; but I who am so poor and helpless must look up to Gouranga who is ever ready to befriend the miserable and helpless, and must seek the company of the shepherd boy (Krishna). Here there is no necessity of prayer, mystical ceremonies, meditation and the like; a little love is all that is required.”

“মহারাজের সঙ্গে মহারাজের, আমীরের সঙ্গে আমীরের, যোগীর সঙ্গে যোগীর, সন্ন্যাসীর সঙ্গে সন্ন্যাসীর, আর গরিবের সঙ্গে গরিবের আলাপই শোভা পায়; ইহার বিপরীত যেখানে সেইখানেই কষ্টের কারণ। তাই বলি যাদের ভজন সাধন আছে তারাই ব্রহ্ম, ঈশ্বর প্রভৃতির সহিত আলাপ করুন; কিন্তু আমার কিছুই নাই, বড়ই কাঙ্গাল, তাই আমি কাঙ্গালের ঠাকুর গৌরের সহিত আলাপ করিতে চাই, তাই আমি গয়লার ছেলে, গরুর রাখাল সেই প্রাণ কানাইয়ের সঙ্গ চাই । এখানে মন্ত্র, তন্ত্র, জপ, ধ্যান কিছুই করিতে হয় না, কেবলমাত্র একটু ভালবাসা চাই….”
