Part 4; Letter No. 4

Letter No. 4

To, Pulin Krishna Sen:

You have come here to adore Krishna. May the Name of Krishna be ever in your mouth and mind! May you have no desire to take the Name of Krishna for some earthly happiness or gain! Do not exchange the priceless jewel for a piece of glass. Do not care even for eternal heaven in exchange of the Name of Krishna. Do not aspire to buy anything but Krishna at the price of His Name. Even the status of Siva or Brahma should not be accepted.

One, who has seen me in my days of either childhood, or youth or old age, remembers that form of my bodily frame. One, who has never seen me before, there can be no connection between my name and the frame. This is true in relation to every object in this changing world. There is not a semblance of relation between the Name and the frame. But the name of Krishna is identical with Krishna Himself, for He who bears this name is indestructible, unchangeable and constant. He pervades the whole universe; the universe is full of His manifestations and glory. So see His image in every object. As the entire body is nurtured by the circulation of the same blood, as all things in the body are variants of it and at the same time there is a centre for this blood (the heart), in the same way all things you find in this universe are the manifestations of Radha and Krishna. Being the centre of all these, these two Rasaraj (Krishna) and Rasamayi (Radha) are ever manifest in their dual forms. The existence of any other object but them is impossible. Otherwise there would be second God. Hence I say that Krishna alone pervades the world and is in its centre in the form of the greatest of actors, fond of new plays every time.

To the one, who observes Him from a distance, His image seems more and more diffuse as the distance increases, while the one, who comes closer and closer to Him, will observe His image that is all joy and thus get supreme pleasure. The farther you are from Him, the greater will be your fear. The Lord is not an object of fear, but of Love. Go on repeating His Name and the owner of the Name will come to you of himself.

Part III of your “Pagal Haranath” will soon come out in a new garb. Every one should always keep a copy with him or her and should occasionally read attentively. That will do him good.
